In nearby Asheville, NC, officials have began to investigate a contamination leak discovered in Reed Creek. The contamination was first reported by The Asheville Citizen Times who stated, "An environmental group sampled the water and says it registered E. coli readings much higher than normal." In the wake of this discovery, local officials have began personally investigating possible sources and solutions for the problem. Currently the most suspect source for the contamination seems to be a potential sewer line backup. While no advisories or warnings have been formally issued at this time, concerned citizens wait on the results of official reports regarding the issue.
